Jake is a Southern transplant to California from the northernmost and unconditionally better of the two Carolinas. Apparently, as his mother tells him, he was listening to Hendrix and Marley before he left the womb. In his early teenage years he asked for a drumset for his birthday, and ended up with a red electric Ibanez instead. Over a decade later, guitar has remained one of the few constants in an otherwise changing and evolving lifestyle. Raised on a blend of international styles and American classics, an appreciation for many, many musical sounds remains to this day.
